County Finals

U14 Lilliput Gaels 4-15  Moate 6-11 AET

Minor Lilliput Gaels 1-10  Athlone 2-12

We had disappointment on the double in Moate on Saturday afternoon as both our U14's and Minors lost their county finals. Our U14's were particularly in hard luck as they lost to our hosts after extra time and a thrilling contest. Our minors held a three point lead midway through the second half but two goals in the last quarter opened up a healthy late lead for the south Westmeath side and they held on for victory. While it was a disappointing end to the season for these two fine sides, they can be very proud of a season where they won more than they lost, where they trained hard, developed very well and continue to be a credit to our underage club.

Cumann na mBunscoil Boys Football

Ballinagore 5-12 Rosemount 3-12

Our boys school team got their campaign off to a winning start against Rosemount on Friday afternoon in Ballinagore. This was edge of the seat stuff for all the parents that supported on the sidelines with play going from end to end throughout. Our boys got off to a great start with an early goal but Rosemount were on our heels for the rest of the game and never let us get out of sight. Credit to both teams for some well taken scores in what was an entertaining game of football.
