MATCH 

A strong start from Castledaly with scores from play Francis Rushe and Kevin Stone and  Lorcan Dolan free-kick,  and a fine goal from play for Lorcan Dolan on tenth minute Shandonagh fired back immediately with 2 points from play before a goal of their own.

With a free kick won by MJ Kelly Lorcan Dolan retrieved the lead, and Dolan won a free for Kevin Stone to convert  but Shandonagh added two goals and points from play to lead by 9 at half time score: Castledaly  1-5(8)  Shandonagh  3-8(17)

In the second half both teams repeated their points tally, and Castledaly's Dan Heavin was the first score on the board with a well taken score.  However Shandonagh quickly adding 1-05 in 7 minutes. Lorcan Dolan was carving out some opportunities under close marking with point from play before John Warburton plundered forward to win a close free kick, scored by Lorcan Dolan on 10 minutes.

Castledaly continued to raid forward and added another point from play,  with MJ Kelly kicking over from left corner. Shandonagh added two points in reply and a long ball into Lorcan Dolan from Alan Stone on 17th minute was turned into penalty and Kevin Stone blasted to the net for goal. Lorcan won and scored another free minutes later as Castledaly fought to hold back the Shandonagh siege but despite their best efforts the blue jerseys ran riot to finish full time score: Castledaly  2-10(16)  Shandonagh  5-18(33)

Castledaly Fit Club continues Monday Wednesday Friday with ladies’ classes at 7 and gents at 8pm under the expert guidance of Liam Lorcan and Paulette.

 

 

Walking Track available to club members and it is always great to see people making use of this wonderful facility.

 

 

Underage Training continues for Under 6 (born 2013/14) and Under 8 (born 2011/12) boys and girls at Castledaly pitch Fridays at 6.30pm  (weather permitting) witj emphasis on fun and enjoying sport. New players are always welcome to attend.

Our Summer Fun Camp was a huge success last week with great crowd of young stars enjoying the skill drills and fun games.  Huge thanks to everyone volunteered their time and energy to make this such a success.  

 

Castledaly GAA grounds were a hive of activity on Friday evening as our Under 10, Under 8 and Under 6 teams all hosted matches.

 

The Under 10s played in a high scoring match against Shannonbridge while our Under 8s took on Garrycastle in an entertaining game. 

 

A special mention must go to our Under 6 stars who played their first of the season against Moate All Whites.

Almost sixty players wore the gold and green jerseys on the evening.

 

Well done to everyone involved and many thanks to the visiting teams.
