Kilbeggan Shamrocks GAA Notes

April 21, 2019

Upcoming fixtures

Our intermediate team travel to Moate this Friday, April 26 at 7.30pm to face the home side in Division 3 of the All-County League, while our junior team host Ballinagore in Division 6B on Sunday, April 28 at 11.30am.

Minors win again

Our minors made it two wins from two in Division 3 (13-a-side) of the league last Thursday evening when they had an excellent 4-12 to 4-9 victory away to Multyfarnham.

Picking up from where he left off against Milltownpass, Cathal Finn bagged 2-6 from centre forward, while Mark Wrafter decorated an exceptional performance with a stunning goal after soloing the length of the field. Aidan Stone grabbed the other goal in what was an excellent all-round display.

Well done to all the team and management.

Team: Yuri Tierney; Mark Wrafter, Josh Malone; Eoin Dixon, Aidan Stone, Conor Carroll; Cathal Maher, James Hanlon; Micheal Coffey, Cathal Finn, Joey O'Neill; Shane Fulham, Senan Claffey.

Westmeath minors

Best of luck to the Westmeath minor footballers who open their Leinster championship campaign against Longford in Glennon Brothers Pearse Park on Tuesday evening. We have Damien McLoughlin involved as a selector and Mark Wrafter as a player.

Marathon man

Congratulations to Dermot Smith on completing his latest marathon in Boston last week.
