Shandonagh Development Plan

On Thursday 11th April and Saturday 13th the club held two presentations detailing the proposed development plans to add to the existing facilities and pitches. The field adjoining the grounds will be purchased and used to provide for the ever greater number of club members both on and off the field of play. The facilities are for all the community and the hard task of fundraising now starts in earnest. More detailed plans and will be provided online and in the coming week and in our local papers.

U13 Boys

The U13 boys won their Leinster cross county league final against Blessington in Abbottstown on Saturday 13th. A great team performance with every member of the panel getting to play their part resulted in a very enjoyable and rewarding day for all.

U14 Girls

The U14 girls gave a good account of themselves in Feile in Athlone on Sunday afternoon gone by. They were unlucky to lose to Athlone in their first game and then overcame Ballycomoyle in their second. Final games were very entertaining with the girls just losing to both Loughanavalley and Garrycastle. Their first home game is on Thursday against St Pauls of Delvin 6pm.

No winner of the jackpot this week with the number drawn 3, 10, 16 & 24 so next weeks jackpot is  €9,500. Congratulations to €100 winner James Gallagher Jnr.

Merchandise Day

Next Saturday 20th April from 10am to 1pm in the clubhouse the club is holding a merchandise day. A full range of size samples will be available on the day and staff on hand to assist with sizing.

ACFL Div 1 Result

A day to forget was had in this league game on Sunday 14th April when Shandonagh went down on a score of Tang 2:12 to Shandonaghs 0:10. Despite having a significant amount of possession in the second half Shandonagh registered 11 wides in total. It wasn't to be the Shans' day but the players can take heart in the fact that they didn't give up and lessons will be learned.
