Senior Championship

Maryland 2-6

Castledaly 1-18

We played out fourth championship game in Baltimore this on Saturday evening, with Castledaly the opponents. Unfortunately we failed to perform on the day, with the tricky conditions and slippy ball making it a difficult situations for our forwards.

Playing against the wind in the first half, we entered half-time staring down the barrel of a seven point deficit. Unfortunately we were unable to use the conditions to our benefit in the second half, never really threatening to claw back the lead. A couple of well-take goals from Joe Harte gave the lads some reward for their efforts, but it was not enough on the day.

The loss was a major blow to our hopes of retaining our senior status for 2019. We now must beat Garrycastle in our final game while hoping other results go our way.

Team: L Moran; C Hermbusche, C Farrell, D Hermbusche; D Malynn, K Martin, B O'Donohoe; K Kincaid, L Reilly; C Kelly, J Ganly, S Martin; K Malynn, J Harte, J Reilly.

Scorers: J Harte (2-0), K Martin (0-3), K Malynn (0-2, 0-1f), J Ganly (0-1).
