Intermediate Championship

Moate All Whites 0-16

Ballinagore 2-6

Tubberclair’s victory over Ballymore means we have qualified for the quarter finals and achieved promotion to Group 1 next year and we are left with a game against Milltownpass next week which will decide who finishes first and second in the group.

As expected our opposition put in a spirited performance in their efforts to avoid relegation and we really had to dig out the victory especially after conceding two second half goals when it appeared we were going to coast to the win. In fairness despite these blows there was a great response by going back up the field and scoring 4 points without reply and only for a combination of poor finishing and good goalkeeping we should have had a couple of goals to show for our efforts. Best for us on the day were Sean Bracken & Paul Gorman at the back, Eoghan & Ruairi in the middle, Rob Forde who had a personal haul of 9 points and the very lively Paul Sheridan who made a big impact off the bench.

Moate U17s

On Wednesday evening last we played Lilliput Gaels in Ballinagore in the first round of the U17 Championship.

The home side started the stronger and with our lads slow to get going, Lilliput Gaels had built up a comfortable lead by half time. We came more into the game in the second half and chipped away at the deficit but it wasn’t enough and the home side ran out winners in the end.

Annual Street Leagues

It’s that time of year again when our youngest players get to showcase their talents and show us just how far they have come over the past 7 months of training. Our U6/U8/U10 teams will play their first games on Friday 14th, and on the following three Fridays culminating in Finals Day on Sunday 7th October. These games are always so enjoyable to watch and we hope you will take the time to come along and cheer on the teams

A huge thank you to Moate Meats (Gillivan Butchers) who have come on board as our sponsor this year, so much of our Street League depends on this support and for this we are very grateful.
