Junior League

Crookewood 0-11 Lough Lene Gaels 3-18. A disappointing and below par performance saw us comprehensively beaten by a sharper Gaels team on Saturday evening. With 20 minutes on the clock our opponents held a slender two-point lead, but they outscored us by 2-6 to 0-1 for the remainder of the 1st half and effectively ended the game as a contest. Team; Alan O Mara, Mossy Brennan, Kevin Orme, Enda Murray, Noel Kiernan, Seamus Savage (0-1), Diarmaid Hyland, Richie Crowley (0-1), Emmet Feerick, Brendan McCarthy (0-5), Ger Brennan (0-2), Johnny Nally (0-2), Cian Yourell, Ciaran McGovern, J.J. Brennan. Subs used; Adam Mitchell for JJ Brennan, Aron Orme for C.Yourell, Noel Bardon for C.MCGovern.

Well done to Shane McGovern and the Westmeath hurlers on their win over Kerry in Round 3 of the Joe McDonagh Cup.

Supermac's Kit for Clubs

It's our turn in the Supermac's Kits for Clubs promotion. What this means is that anytime you buy any meal in Supermac's/Papa John's(Mullingar) over the next few weeks just ask for a token and put it in the Crookedwood Hurling Club box. When we reach 500 tokens, Supermac's will kindly give us some gear for our young lads. We would like to thank Supermacs for this opportunity.

Membership

Membership is now overdue for all players and members, membership can be paid to any committee member or to your team mentor if you are a player. Rates for 2018 are as follows: Active adult member (players, mentors & committee members) €40, Adult member & partner €60, Student (over 18) €30, Family €80, Underage (under 18) €25, Social member (which covers use of walking track) €25

Walking Track

The walking track lights are on every night if anyone wants to avail of a safe, clean area for a bit of exercise. Please note anyone wishing to avail of our facilities must have membership paid.

Lotto: Latest results; 19/5/18, Jackpot €3800. Numbers drawn: 5,11,12,18. No winner; €20 winners, Seamus Savage, Mary Curran, Richard Doyne. We are asking all members to support our lotto.The lotto draw is the financial lifeline of our club and we appreciate all support. Tickets can be bought in The Wood or from any committee member, alternatively annual tickets can be purchased for €100.

Condolences

Crookedwood GAA extends its sympathy to the McLoughlin family, Castlepollard on the passing of Essie McLoughlin. Ar dheis de go raibh a anam.
