U14 Division 2 Feile Hurling Final
Delvin 4-4
Southern Gaels 2-3
What a magnificent performance by our u14's to take home the Division 2 Feile title in Cusack Park on Sunday evening against a strong Southern Gaels side. Delvin started the game in the best possible manner with a well taken goal from Man of the Match Steven Cassidy inside the opening minute and it proved to be a lead they never relinquished. Inspired by a great defensive performance led by James Murtagh and Seb McPherson they went in at the break up by 4 points. Joint captains Cassidy and Oisin Kelly led by example with some crucial scores at decisive stages of the second half. Gavin Drumm scored a great point just after being introduced and when Southern Gaels goaled with 2 minutes to go to bring it back to 4 points a nail biting finish was on the cards but fittingly a Steven Cassidy goal put the result beyond doubt and led to great celebrations in the Delvin camp. After the game the Feile Shield was presented to our captains and Steven Cassidy thanked Southern Gaels for a sporting game and also thanked his teammates and the team mentors Peter, Kevin and Shane. Well done to all.

ACHL Division 1
Delvin 2-15
Brownstown 1-7
Delvin travelled to their near neighbours in Archerstown last Monday evening for an eagerly awaited Division 1 hurling league game between two teams who had both started the campaign well. Played in front of a big crowd Brownstown who were unbeaten after 3 rounds started well with the first two points of the game but from then on the men in maroon hurled with greater intensity helped by some great scores from Darragh Clinton and a goal just before the break from Alan Cox. Delvin went in at the break up 1-6 to 0-4. Delvin started the second half well and took control of the game with a Killian Murphy goal and were denied another major after a fine penalty save from Clinton. Delvin finished the stronger with a fine defensive performance and two points from Dean Poynton, Clinton and a majestic point from Ollie Cassidy ensured a comfortable 11 point victory for the valley men despite conceding a last minute goal. Special mention must go to Delvin wing back Ronan Kelly who gave a man of the match performance on the same evening he buried his grandmother. Prior to the game a minutes silence was observed for the late Gertie Kelly, Mitchelstown and the late Jim Smyth, Archerstown. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Oliver Plunketts 3-6
Our u12's produced a spirited performance to just get the better of the visiting Mullingar side in Delvin on Wednesday evening. Man of the match Billy Kelleghan ensured we went in at the break up by 3 points with an opportunist goal and some great scores from placed balls. The second half was a tight affair and our half back line of the 3 Lukes defended heroically. Well taken points from Callum Cruise and Gavin Drumm and a goal from Ethan Coll proved decisive in what was a very sporting game. Well done to all involved.
