Planning Committee Report 2018

The proposals of the planning committee were issued during the week. These are for discussion by the clubs and final decisions will be made at the county board meeting later in the month. The senior championship is to be run on the same basis as last year with Garrycastle in group 2 along with Maryland, Rosemount, Mullingar Shamrocks, Castledaly & St. Marys Rochfortbridge, with the top 2 qualifying for the playoffs and the bottom 2 playing off for relegation to intermediate. In the Junior championship Garrycastle are in Group 3 along with Athlone, Rosemount, Tyrellspass, Caulry & Tubberclair. The top team qualifies for playoffs. Interestingly the committee are proposing an under 20 championship to be played as one 15 a side knockout competition.

All County Leagues will commence on the weekend of the 10/11th March. Garrycastle will have teams in divisions 1, 3 and 6. Division 6 will be 13 aside competition with the option to play 15 aside subject to both clubs agreeing.

The committee are asking clubs to take a look at the cup competitions because of scheduling difficulties.
