These are busy times for the Mahony household in Waterford.

The more famous brothers Pauric and Philip were joined on the Ballygunner side that defeated Limerick’s Patrickswell in the Munster club SHC semi-final by two more brothers Mikey and Kevin as they look to win back to back provincial titles.

Last Saturday, the brothers’ sister Emily was part of the Gailltir side that lifted the Munster club intermediate camogie title when beating Tipp’s Toomevara in the final.

Pauric told the Waterford News & Star that their sister’s exploits sometimes go unnoticed, but he added it is a great time for the family.

“They (Gallitir) had a great win in the Munster final,” said Mahony. “Sometimes at home we take all the plaudits but she’s a handy camogie player herself.”

Mikey Mahony’s contribution of four second half points really made the difference in their 0-17 to 0-09 win over Patrickswell.

The Mahony brothers now have a Munster club final to look forward to, while sister Emily is preparing for an All-Ireland club semi-final.
