Who will replace Paraic Fanning as Waterford senior hurling manager?

Fanning stepped down from the position last Friday and is the norm, speculation is increasing by the day as to who will be the next to step into the hot seat.

If Paddy Power are to be believed, Colm Bonnar is the man to guide the Deise forward. The Tipperary All-Ireland winner and current Carlow boss is 7/4 favourite.

Sean Power who has worked with Waterford underage teams is joint second favourite alongside RTE Sport GAA analysts Brendan Cummins and Donal Og Cusack, as well as surprisingly Derek McGrath.

The former Waterford manager has always stated that he would make a return to the position, but whether or not that would happen just over a year after he stepped down remains to be seen.

Other potential candidates with a genuine chance of getting the job according to Paddy Power are Dan Shanahan (7/1), Pat Ryan (7/1) and Fergal Hartley (7/1), while Kilkenny legends DJ Carey and Henry Shefflin are posted at 14/1.

For us, the stand out bet is Fergal Hartley at 7/1, following the success he has had with Ballygunner, if the former Waterford star is interested, he is surely the man to guide them.
