Miltown-Malbay manager Michael Neylon believes his charges will have to be at their best to reach a Munster club SFC final.

The Clare champions are just 60 minutes away from reaching a provincial decider; standing in their way are Waterford counterparts The Nire who cruised past Limerick outfit Adare in last weekend’s quarterfinal.

Neylon admitted to the Clare Champion that The Nire are a seasoned team at this level and his side will certainly not be complacent going into the game at Fraher Field.

“Our feet are on the ground. We know the challenge ahead of us. We’re under no illusions. The players have realised that it’s going to have to be the best performance of the year, maybe the best performance in the club’s history, to get something out of this game,” said Neylon.

“We know how good The Nire are, having seen them last weekend, and we know what their history, tradition and experience are. We’re probably the more inexperienced of the two teams on the Munster stage, but we’ll be leaving no stone unturned and trying to get the best out of ourselves.”
