Clare manager Colm Collins believes that changes need to be made to the football championship to help reinvigorate the big ball code.

Yet again, Clare will face Kerry in the Munster SFC this weekend and the players are all too familiar with each other according to Collins.

The Cratloe native points to how the changes made in the hurling championship have revitalised the game and he feels football needs a similar change.

“In the overall context of the championship throwing up the same pairings every year is not good,” Collins states in the Kerryman.

“The way the hurling championship has rejuvenated itself that badly needs to be done for football and it’s glaring.”
