New York manager Justin O'Halloran has seven homegrown players in his squad for next Sunday's Connacht SFC preliminary round clash with Mayo at Gaelic Park.
Shane Hogan, who netted in last year's unlucky defeat to Leitrim, is among those who have risen through the ranks as the trend towards producing local talent continues to grow.
Down's Niall Madine captains a side which is notable for a lack of high-profile names from home. Armagh's Jamie Clarke has returned home since last year, while veteran defender Tom Cunniffe won't feature against his native county either. The Roscommon pair, Neil Collins and Donal Ward, who has been boxing in the Golden Gloves, aren't involved also, while Daniel Flynn has returned to Kildare after training with the squad earlier this year.
Mayo are expected to bring a huge crowd to The Bronx for the game which throws in at 2.15pm local time.
