Parnells club notes

As the Easter holidays draw to a close and the warmer weather continues, the season will begin for all parts of the club.  Outdoor training is across all age groups either at Northwick Park or Harrow Rugby Club.  Youth fixtures:  Good luck to Parnells U11 as we hold the first blitz on the 27/4 at 11.30am at Harrow Rugby Club.  Also that day, an U14 tournament organised by London Youth, Conrad Ryan Cup takes place with all London clubs invited.  The U14 and O14 Girls also start their fixtures on 26/4 and the boys U15 and U17 the following week.  The Junior team take on St Anthony’s in the McArdle Cup Semi-Final at 2.00pm in Greenford and the Seniors play in the first round of the League against Garryowen on 28/4 5.30pm at the same venue.  Best of luck to both teams.

Events:  Club refereeing basic skills refresher course (24/4) to be held at Harrow Rugby Club for club members only, led by Ollie Sheehy, 8-9.00pm.  Senior Club Meeting 24.4.2019, The Green Man, Kingsbury 8pm.  Parnells Senior Golf Day 24th May at Mill Hill Gold Club, Parnells Youth U13 Trip to Listowel will take place this May 24th-26th, contact Ollie Sheehy for information (07951 701206).

The club would like to pass on its sympathies to Irene (Club PRO) and Sean O’Connor on the recent passing of Sean’s father, John O’Connor.  John, formerly of Cahersiveen, Co Kerry (aged 89), lived in Northolt for many years and was part of the Kingdom Club in its early beginnings.  He returned to Ireland over 40 years ago and lived in Kells but stayed involved with St Mary’s GAA (Cahersiveen).  Pre deceased by his wife Catherine and deeply regretted by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and in particular, his son Sean and grandchildren Ruairi (Junior team) and Ellen.  Burial in Ireland:  29th and 30th April in Cahersiveen.  Details will be on the website.
