Tir Chonaill Gaels London club notes

September 10, 2018

Lotto draw winners: Anthony McDermot, Ray Jenkins & Niamh Treacy. No jackpot winners this week

Sadly the club have suffered more bereavements this week; we remember Mary Kerrigan (Kingston upon Thames) Grandmother of Sean & Matt Killeen. We remember Ryan McCready's grandfather Peter McGee (Dungloe, Donegal), Arthur Morrow (Mountcharles, Donegal) Father of Keith Morrow, Euro Diamond drilling and Vera O'Reilly, loving mother of Emer O'Reilly (Cavan). May their souls rest in peace.

Seniors

The Seniors commenced their Championship campaign yesterday with a good win against Kingdom Kerry Gaels in Ruislip. David O’Donnell found the net inside the opening minute of the match which set the Gaels on the road to victory. A personal tally of 3-6 for Adrian Hanlon along with goals for Eoin Murray and Eoin Mageehan helped produce a scoreline of 6-10 to 1-5 in favour of the Gaels.

Next up it’s Parnells in Round 2 of the Senior Championship - game to be played next Sunday 16th September @ 3.30pm in Greenford

Juniors

The juniors once again got a walkover at the 11th hour from Moinderaig in the Championship which means they are now through to the semi final Vs Wandsworth Gaels. Game to be played next Saturday 15th September @ 5.30pm in Greenford

Ladies

Our ladies were robbed of their place in the All Britain Semi final with a penalty score from Rodger Casements on Saturday in the last 10 seconds of injury time. The girls kept the Warwickshire team firmly behind by at least 2 points the entire game. Some great performances were had by Lisa Walsh & Sinead Freil however luck was not on our side in the final seconds. Final score 1-9 to 0-11. The club would like to thank all of our sponsors including Powerday, Ardmore, Euro Diamond drilling, Montway construction, UK & Ireland Insurance, TES and Thames materials. Thanks to Darragh McDonagh of RK Air for the provision of transport on Saturday. A massive thanks to Brendan Friel, Niamh Treacy, Benny McGarvey & Sean Allen for their management commitments to the girls throughout the championship. The last fixture of the season will be the league final vs Dulwich Harps, date & time TBC.

Youth
