The Under 8 & 10 boys are training this Thursday (19th) from 7 > 8 pm. Last Saturday (14th) we hosted an U10 boys blitz. We hosted 5 visiting clubs: Aghaloo, Donaghmore, Errigal Ciaran, Kildress and Stewartstown. Thanks to all the clubs involved for a great mornings entertainment. Our U8 boys will have a blitz this Saturday (21st) with venue TBC.

With our senior ladies reaching the championship final this weekend, there will be a ‘Green & White night’ tonight (Wednesday 18th) from 6:30 - 7:30pm for all our girls from U8-U12 at the pitch. Lots of coaching and mini games with our senior ladies being in attendance also. All girls are welcome to attend. There will be a blitz for our U8 & U10 girls on Saturday – venue TBC.

The U16 girls are due to have a game at home on Sunday (22nd) v Castlederg (TBC).   

The U16 Boys welcomed Moortown to St. Mary's Park on Thursday 5th September for their final league outing of the season and what a game it proved to be. The away side started brightly and an early goal gave them a  good start. Killeeshil settled into the game nicely though with Michael Gormley and Eoin Neill keeping the scoreboard ticking over. Liam Traynor was driving the team forward brilliantly from the defence as Killeeshil pulled level with halftime approaching but Moortown had the last say of the half when nipped in for a second goal to see them into the break ahead by 3 points. The end to end nature of the game continued in the second half with points being traded at a steady rate, Eoin Millar and Cathal Rafferty were working very hard at midfield to keep the home forward line with a good supply of ball. Moortown made a strong push for the finish line when they netted their third goal with just over 5 minutes remaining to lead by 4 points. But the young Hoops have shown time and time again this season they have a serious fighting spirit and produced a wonderful response. Killeeshil kicked the last four points of the game to level things up, the final point from Daniel Rafferty a great score from the right side after being released by a super pass from Dillon O'Neill. A draw a fair result after all was said and done. Killeeshil 2-19 Moortown 3-16. Training this week is on Wednesday evening from 8pm to 9.15pm as preparations continue for the Championship game at the weekend.

Training also on Friday evening at 6.15pm to 7.30pm. The Championship game v Dungannon is on this Saturday morning (21st) at 11.30am in Killeeshil. A big home support would be great for the team at the start of a big weekend of championship action.

 

Our Senior Ladies continue a mammoth weekend for our club when they compete in the Championship Final on Saturday evening. We all wish lots of good luck to our Senior Ladies & their management team when they face Trillick in the Championship Final this Saturday (21st) in Drumragh at 5.30 pm. We would encourage all Club members and supporters to get out and support our ladies and wear club colours to the game as we cheer our ladies on.

Our senior men faced Brocagh in their Championship Quarter Final last Friday (13th) in Stewartstown. During the first half both defences were on top with the ball getting turned over on numerous occasions and we took a 1 point lead into the dressing rooms at half time. Half time score Killeeshil 0-7 Brocagh 0-6. Brocagh then enjoyed a purple patch at the beginning of the second half when they scored a goal but credit to our boys and their management team, they upped their game and got back on top after a series of well taken points eventually seeing the game out on a final scoreline of Killeeshil 0-19 to Brocagh 1-11. Training continues this Tuesday and Friday nights at 7.30 pm for all senior and reserve players in preparation of a Championship semi-final.  This Sunday evening (22nd) all roads lead to Omagh, as our Senior men take on Kildress in the semi-final of the Junior Championship at 6.45 pm. Please come along and cheer on our boys!   

All Killeeshil Gaels, please keep free the weekend of Saturday 28th September. That weekend will be the clubs major fundraiser of 2019 with an exciting weekends activities getting underway on the Saturday evening with a barbecue/hot food/bar in the Community Centre and music provided by one of Irelands top groups “The Miracles”. Tickets are available to buy for this night now from any committee member. Then on the Sunday we will have a fun day with a parade of all our football teams, matches for all our youth teams and bouncy castles for all our young members. The official opening ceremony of the Killeeshil Stand will take place on the Sunday and finish off with our major fundraiser “Drop The Ball Competition”. Tickets are available to buy for this event from any committee member. Mark it in your diary folks, its sure to be a great event and we urge all our members to support us! Last Saturday (14th), we hosted a lads minor double-bill of finals in Killeeshil. Congratulations to Trillick who won the Grade 2 Minor League Final after defeating Coalisland. Best wishes to young Coalisland lad; Ruairi Campbell who suffered a serious leg injury during the game. The second game was the Grade 2 Minor Championship Final between Clonoe and Moy and after a hugely entertaining encounter, the game finished all square, 0-12 to 2-6. Thanks to anyone who helped out at these 2 games in anyway.  

We extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Patsy Hamill (Ackinduff Park) and Tommy Nugent (Killyclogher) on their recent bereavements. As we enter this very important week, we ask every Killeeshil Gael to say a prayer or just spare a thought for our sick and their families and hope that if our Club enjoys success, they can also share in the joy it brings.
