The Under 8 & 10 boys are training this Thursday (29th) from 7 > 8 pm. Our U8 boys will have a blitz this Saturday – venue TBC.
Our U12 boys have a friendly game v Edendork on Thursday (29th) with throw-in scheduled for 7.15 pm. All players to meet at the pitch at 6.45pm. Congratulations to our U12.5 lads and their management team of Liam Kelly & Ian McWilliams, who won the Shield Competition at the Clogher Tournament last Saturday (24th)! The lads showed great determination, attitude and winning mentality right from the first game where they demolished Augher. The second game was a tougher assignment against eventual Cup Winners Emyvale. Behind by a point at half time, they pushed on to a win in the second half. In the third group game against Carrickcruppen, we gave our subs a game where they pushed them all the way, just falling short at the final whistle! In the quarter final, we tore into Scotstown, outscoring them 11 goals and 4 points to 4 points. In the semi-final we met Newtownbutler and after a tight first half were we led by a point at half time, our lads kicked on in the second half outscoring them by 7 points. In the final against our neighbours Aghaloo, we had our toughest test and we scored a late goal to level things up and force extra time! In the four mins of extra time, we were never behind! A great performance all round and player of the tournament was awarded to Ronan Bell; well done Ronan and all the lads. Super achievement by this talented team. On the day, it was evident these lads have been well coached all year by Vincent Sherry all they show-cased an array of skills.
The U8 & U10 girls train on Fridays from 6.30 to 7.30pm, as always new members are welcome. All help from parents is also greatly appreciated. Our U8 girls competed in the annual Cookstown competitive blitz on Saturday (24th), in what was a fantastic morning of football from our girls. Battling through all group games to finish 3rd in the group of 6, the girls unfortunately lost out in the quarter final of the Cup by just a few points. Our young hoopettes should be proud of the skill, hardwork and determination each of them shown on the day! Well done girls!
Our U12 girls train every Monday from 6.30pm > 7.30pm.
U16 girls had a game at home v Coalisland on Tuesday (27th) but unfortunately we were beaten on the night. Training continues on Thursday evening at 6:15pm.
