Tyrone minor manager Collie Holmes believes they are in a good place ahead of the start of the Ulster MFC.

Victory over Monaghan in the Ulster MFL final last weekend was the perfect boost for the championship.

On Saturday week, Tyrone begin their provincial campaign with a clash against Donegal and Holmes admitted to the Ulster Herald that they are heading into the game in a confident mood.

“It’s ideal for us that we got that test. We asked those boys during the week why they want to win, and how they’re going to win and they’re getting to the script a bit better now,” said the former Tyrone senior player.

“They’re a good bunch of lads, they’ve worked hard and this was the first of two competitions we’re in. We can only win two competitions this year, and we got to the final of the league and we didn’t want to see that wasted.”
