Adult Football;

Our senior men were defeated on Sunday away to Moortown on a score line of 1-11 to 1-8, Seamy Breslin got the Strabane goal in the first half. Playing against a strong breeze Sigersons went in at half time four points down but battled back to level midway through the second half but Moortown pulled away with three unanswered scores towards the end.

 

Our Reserves had a brilliant victory on Sunday in Moortown winning by the minimum 2-10 to 2-9.

 

Senior Ladies;

Good Luck to our senior ladies who face Badoney in the 9 a side Division 2B league on Saturday at 6.30pm.

Easter Camp;

Sigersons Annual Easter Camp 2019 is open to Boys & Girls from Primary 1 to Year 10. The Camp promises to be a fantastic 2 days of craic, fun, playing and learning. We will have Special Guests who will pop in during the 2 days and help out with coaching and hopefully help us find the next Sigersons Superstar!

The Camp is FREE to any registered Sigersons member and each attendee will receive a FREE Sigersons T-Shirt. For those not already registered for membership, follow the following link which takes you to the registration page. Membership registration forms will also be available on the day.

To comply with insurance requirements, Players cannot play GAA unless they are registered.

The GAA has the largest membership of any sports organisation in Ireland. Once a member of a GAA club, you become part of the GAA family for life, and part of a great community based organisation that continues to enhance the lives of so many people.

In 2019 Sigersons have plans to enhance further our youth activities. This is your chance to have you and your children involved.

 

Sigersons/Shamrocks 500 Club Draw;

The 2019 Sigersons/Shamrocks 500 club draw tickets have been released, these tickets are a vital source of income for our club to pay for pitch maintenance, teams fees and the general running of our club. They are not many tickets left so to ensure you are in the draw please get your ticket soon.

 

- £100 a Ticket

- £10 per month for 10 Months

 

There is a draw at the end of each Month with £500 worth of Prizes, there is also a Grand draw in December with the top prize £5000! Throughout the year there is a total of £14,500 worth of prizes to be won.

 

We encourage all club members to buy a ticket and encourage as many people as possible to sell tickets. Standing Order is the preferred option. Contact any committee member, coach or adult player to purchase a ticket.

 

Youth Football;

Our under 14 girls had a good week despite losing out late on last Thursday night away to Drumragh, the girls bounced back in great fashion with an excellent victory over Derrytresk on Saturday.

 

Our Minor Boys lost out to Omagh last Wednesday night by four points, the lads worked hard but missed some key opportunities to narrow the deficit.

 

Well done to our minor girls who defeated Castlederg last week on a scoreline of 3-10 to 1-7, the Sigersons scorers were Crystal Crossan 3-5, Ellie-Jay McMenamin 0-1, Niamh Foley 0-1, Chloe Arbuckle 0-1, Riley Neeson 0-1 & Eve McCrea 0-1

 

Scoláireachtaí Gaeltachta 2019/ Gaeltacht Scholarships 2019;

The hugely successful Tír Eoghain GAA Gaeltacht Scholarship Scheme will be launched on Monday 15th April. Application forms will be available from this date from Club Secretaries, Tyrone website or reception at Garvaghey and must be returned by hand or by post to: Tír Eoghain GAA Centre, 230 Radergan Road, Garvaghey, Co Tyrone, BT70 2EH. The closing date for receipt of forms is Wednesday 15th May at 5.00pm.

Successful candidates will be presented with their scholarships at a ceremony in Tír Eoghain GAA Centre, Garvaghey, on Wednesday 12th June at 7.30pm by Tír Eoghain County Chairman, Michael Kerr. Students in receipt of grants will be expected to attend this ceremony.

Congratulations;

Congratulations to Aaron McGrath who was part of the Tyrone Under 17 team who defeated Monaghan to win the Jim McGuigan Cup on Saturday.

Congratulations to Eoin Barkley, Oran McGrath, Oisin McGillion, Oisin Kelly and Gabriel Corry who were part of the Tyrone Under 16 team who won the Buncrana Shield Final on Saturday. Club stalwart Dean Molloy is a team mentor for the Tyrone Under 16 team, well done Dean.

Well done to Anthony Crossan who was part of the Tyrone Minor Hurling team who had a comprehensive victory in the Celtic Challenge on Sunday.

Well done to Ellie Jay McMenamin and Anna Mortimore who were part of the Tyrone Minor team on Saturday away to Antrim.

 

Summer Camp Coaching;

Tyrone GAA are looking for quality coaches for football, hurling and handball to ensure our camps are a success. Any coaches who have completed their foundation level award and are actively coaching within their club’s youth programme and looking to work in a fun environment then we want to hear from you.

There will be an information and training evening held on Monday 10th June in the Tyrone GAA Centre in Garvaghy at 6.30 pm. Only those who attend this session will be eligible to work in the summer camps. All coaches are requested to bring suitable training gear as there will be a practical element.

Cash for Clobber;

To help you with your spring cleaning the Club is running a CASH FOR CLOBBER fundraiser at the club grounds from April 18th-27th. We will be collecting and recycling unwanted clothes, shoes, handbags and household textiles.

 

Strabane Darkness into Light 2019;

The committee of Strabane Darkness into Light wish to advise that this year’s 5k walk will take place on Saturday 11th May 2019. 

 

Registration numbers are extremely high and this year’s event promises to be even bigger than before.  Unlike previous years there will be no registration the morning of the walk. Please contact Debbie Deans on 07860803643 or Ciaran McLaughlin on 07920429201 with any queries in relation to registration.

Club Membership for 2019 will close soon and all past members, players and supporters are urged to join as soon as possible. You can go on the club Website and follow the link to register online.

 

Anyone who is not a member will not receive tickets for any Tyrone Games and any player who is not a member cannot play.
