Strabane Sigersons club notes

Adult Football;

Our senior men were narrowly defeated on Sunday by Gortin in Páirc Mhic Sioghair, Gortin started the better running into a 1-2 to 0-1 lead within 10 minutes however Strabane responded well after going down to 14 men. A point each from Sean Doherty and Haydn McNamee was followed by a well taken goal from David Taylor after the ball came off the post. Gortin levelled the game before half time to leave it 1-3 apiece.

The second half was again very tight and the game went score for score for long periods of the half, Ruairi Gormley scored Strabane’s final point before Gortin scored a free kick with the last kick of the game to leave the final score 1-10 to 1-9.

Our Reserves picked up their first victory of the season with a one-point win over Gortin, the final score was 1-6 to 0-8. Anthony Crossan got the winning goal for Strabane with only three minutes remaining.
