Killeeshil club notes

July 10, 2018

Alphalot Results for Monday 9th July were A B G J U. Seller Prize went to Dominic Donaghy with the Lucky Dip Winners being Ava and Thea McCrory and Bernie Nugent. Next weeks Jackpot stands at £7800.

Senior and Reserve men travelled the short distance to Clogher on Thursday last for a League encounter. Reserve men were first up and although racked up an impressive enough 1:12, it still wasn't enough to take the points from Clogher on a glorious evening for football.
Senior men were up next hoping to bounce back from a couple of defeats and played their part in a very entertaining, competitive game of football. Missing a couple of regular starters the team fought hard in every department and even when trailing by 6 points 10 minutes into the second half, they never lay down and pegged away at Clogher getting the game back to within 1 point. But time was running out and a last counter attack saw Clogher grab a goal against the run of play and win the game on a scoreline of 3:14 to 2:13. Even though the result wasn't  one we wanted, the team performed superbly and showed great character throughout the game. No fixtures this weekend for either teams.
Minor lads played their Championship game against Errigal Ciaran on Tuesday past in Dunmoyle. Errigal won the game 3:10 to 1:14, a game which swung back and forth was a truly entertaining spectacle for all in attendance with Errigal racing into an 8 point lead only for our lads claw them back and go into the break trailing by 2. A Killeeshil blitz at the start of the second half saw the lads take the lead and hold it right until the last 10 minutes when Errigal struck with a vital goal. Killeeshil piled the pressure on but could not find the killer goal to win the game. Every single Killeeshil player gave 100% on the night and can hold their heads up high after leaving everything on the field.
