Tipperary and Limerick will meet at Semple Stadium.

A feast of action marked the return of the national football and hurling leagues tonight!

With a series of massive opening-round matches in both codes, the holders of the football and hurling leagues were in action as well as both reigning All-Ireland champions, Leinster football champions, Ulster football champions (and Division Two holders), Munster football champions, Leinster and Munster hurling champions and Joe McDonagh Cup holders. Quite an array of silverware!

Sam Maguire holders Dublin entertained Munster champions Kerry in a repeat of last summer's All-Ireland final at Croke Park, while 2019 Liam MacCarthy Cup winners Tipperary welcomed hurling league holders Limerick to Thurles.

Also in Division One of the FL, Ulster champions Donegal and league holders Mayo faced off at Ballybofey. Tonight's other top-flight hurling encounter pitted Leinster champions Wexford against Joe McDonagh Cup holders Laois at Portlaoise.

There was also action in Divisions Two (Armagh V Cavan); Three (Derry V Leitrim; Cork V Offaly) and Four (Carlow V Wicklow; Waterford V Limerick) of the national football league.
