Clare GAA Treasurer Michael Gallagher has revealed that the county’s Centre of Excellence in Caherlohan has cost €4.8m so far.

Gallagher revealed the figure after a club delegate had requested to know how much had been spent on the development.

The facility was opened four years ago but there is still work to be carried out on it and there has been criticism from some quarters over the failure to finish the project.

There have been issues with the playing surfaces, especially during the winter months when the pitches have been generally closed.
