Paul Flynn believes Dublin's Super 8s clash with Roscommon tomorrow is tailor-made for Diarmuid Connolly.

Despite only returning to the Dublin fold last week, Flynn feels his former team-mate should start against the Connacht champions.

"I'd give Connolly a go," the Fingallians clubman told the Irish Daily Star at the NOW TV Super 8s preview night.

"I am hearing he is ready and fit enough, he has come back into the fold, he has made his decision and been accepted back. I'd expect Dublin to beat Roscommon so you could let him kick five or six points.

"That would end the pressure and the questions about him, save Jim Gavin the hassle for the rest of the year."

Speaking at the same event, former Kerry full forward Kieran Donaghy echoed Flynn's sentiments on Connolly.

"There are lads chomping at the bit there. There is an ideal opportunity for lads to get game-time, a good chance for Jim Gavin to back them.

"So I'd play Diarmuid Connolly and, what's more, I think midfield is the spot for him."
