Played one, won one is Laois captain Paddy Purcell’s record of playing in Croke Park and how he would love to make it two out of two this Sunday.

The O’Moore County return to Croker just two weeks after winning the Joe McDonagh Cup and a surprise win over Dublin in the All-Ireland SHC preliminary quarterfinal in Portlaoise last Sunday.

Now, they face a Tipperary side still wounded from their Munster SHC defeat to Limerick earlier this month.

And Purcell has the added incentive of working in the Premier County to ensure that he is well up for this clash.

“I actually work in Tipperary, so I’m going to have a good week as well. Sure we’re in dream land now to be honest,” Purcell told the Leinster Express.

“We’ve gone back training and the recovery is done, so we just go again now.”
