Tempers flare during Roscommon's Connacht SFL final victory over Galway at Tuam Stadium

Galway entertained Roscommon in the Connacht SFL final but club action took centrestage this afternoon with no fewer than seven All-Ireland semi-finals down for decision.

The Tribesmen and the Rossies were both bidding for silverware as they completed preparations for their respective Division One campaigns, but the stakes were much higher in the junior and intermediate club football and hurling championships as 14 clubs aimed to reach Croke Park on All-Ireland final day.

In the All-Ireland club IFC semi-finals, An Spideal (Galway) and Naomh Eanna (Antrim) met at Navan, while the other semi-final paired Two Mile House (Kildare) and Kilcummin (Kerry) at Limerick's Gaelic Grounds.

Both All-Ireland club JFC semi-finals also threw in at 2pm: Easkey (Sligo) v Red Hughs (Donegal) at Ballinamore as well as Dundalk Young Irelands (Louth) v Beaufort (Kerry) at Portlaoise.

Charleville were already through to the All-Ireland club IHC final and their opponents were determined when Oranmore-Maree of Galway and Antrim's St Galls collided at Parnell Park.

And what an opportunity today presented to Carrick of Leitrim and Castleblayney of Monaghan, who faced off in their All-Ireland club JHC semi-final at Mullingar, while Dungarvan provided the setting for the other semi-final between Dunnamaggin (Kilkenny) and Cloughduv (Cork).
