Shane McGrath is encouraged by the return of Liam Sheedy to the Tipperary senior hurling helm.

McGrath featured under Sheedy on the Tipp side that captured the Liam MacCarthy Cup in 2010 and believes the Premier County can only gain from the reappointment of such an inspirational manager:

“It's a brave thing that Liam is doing. He's coming back in as a guy who has won something and is looked upon as a legend in Tipperary - but he will be expected to deliver,” he told RTE.

“Yet, whatever Liam Sheedy brings to anything it will be 100 percent, his heart will be in it. He's a Tipperary man and he loves hurling. I can only see positives for Tipperary in 2019.

“He makes you believe you can do things on the field that you couldn't before - he puts you in that frame of mind and that goes for everybody on the panel. He also makes you a better person off the field. Liam Sheedy is a top guy in every sense of the word.”
