Galway celebrated a historic Bob O'Keeffe Cup two-in-a-row while Limerick and Wexford safely negotiated their respective preliminary quarter-finals. It's hurling team of the week time…
1. Mark Fanning (Wexford)
Pulled off a fine save to deny Niall O'Brien as the Model County made light work of Westmeath in Mullingar.
2. Liam Ryan (Wexford)
Ryan and his team-mates will face a considerable step up in the quality of opposition next weekend.
3. Daithi Burke (Galway)
The Tribesmen's defence was subjected to a stern examination in the second-half but Burke and his team-mates came good in the end.
4. Johnny Hanbury (Galway)
With back-to-back Leinster SHC titles safely secured, Hanbury & Co have three weeks to prepare for an All-Ireland semi-final.
5. Declan Hannon (Limerick)
It was a case of mission accomplished for the Limerick captain against Carlow and now they switch their focus to Kilkenny.
6. Matthew O'Hanlon (Wexford)
Westmeath got little change out of O'Hanlon and the Model County rearguard in Cusack Park.
7. Aidan Harte (Galway)
The Galway half-back got through an enormous amount of work in Semple Stadium.
8. Conor Fogarty (Kilkenny)
Fogarty and the Cats can't dwell on the disappointment of their defeat for too long as they face a quick turnaround to a quarter-final date with Limerick.
9. Gearoid Hegarty (Limerick)
It was all one-way traffic as Hegarty and the Treaty County gave Joe McDonagh Cup champions Carlow a lesson.
10. TJ Reid (Kilkenny)
Kept fighting to the bitter end but was powerless to prevent the Cats from slipping to a seven-point defeat.
11. Joe Canning (Galway)
The conductor of the orchestra - the Hurler of the Year's return of 0-10 included four efforts from play.
12. Aidan Nolan (Wexford)
Clare will have noted the impact that the Bunclody player had against Westmeath ahead of next weekend's All-Ireland quarter-final.
13. Aaron Gillane (Limerick)
The Carlow defence couldn't cope with the Patrickswell ace who finished with 1-6 (1-4 from play) to his name in Netwatch Cullen Park.
14. Johnny Glynn (Galway)
Got the nod ahead of Conor Cooney to start and repaid Micheal Donoghue's faith in him when causing plenty of headaches for Padraig Walsh and scoring 1-1.
15. Cathal Mannion (Galway)
Punished the Cats at every opportunity and was a deserving recipient of the 'man-of-the-match' accolade after his crucial six point haul.
