"It is hard to see us coming out of Munster"

Former Clare All-Ireland winner Jamesie O'Connor says it's difficult to see the Banner County winning the Munster SHC this summer.

Clare open their provincial campaign this Sunday against Cork at Pairc Ui Chaoimh and, speaking to the Irish Independent, O'Connor feels that a win for the visitors will be crucial if they are to go one better than last July's final defeat to the Rebels.

"You have to be realistic and say we don't have the depth that Kilkenny, Galway and Tipp have and defensively, are we good enough? It is hard to see us coming out of Munster but it is not inconceivable," he stated.

"The first game is massive. If you win that, with two home games to come, it is possible they might get on a roll but I just don't think our defence is good enough."

Throw-in for Sunday's first round clash is at 4pm.
