Kildare, Offaly, Westmeath and Wexford secured wins in the opening round of the Leinster MHC today.

The Lilywhites overturned a four-point half-time deficit edge out Antrim by 2-17 to 4-7 in Newbridge

They had trailed by 1-6 to 4-1 at the change of ends but proceeded to outscore the visitors by 1-11 to 0-6 on the resumption.

Offaly ran out comfortable 4-23 to 0-13 winners over hosts Meath in Trim with Danny Flanagan, Cathal Kiely, Ciaran Teehan and DJ McLoughlin raising green flags for the winners.

Meanwhile, Westmeath recorded a 2-15 to 0-9 victory over Carlow.

Two David Devine goals applied the gloss to a fine team performance by the Lake County.

They had led by 0-9 to 0-6 at the end of the opening 30 minutes.

Wexford are also up and running with a victory after they dispatched of Laois by 1-21 to 0-18 at Innovate Wexford Park.

A closely contested first-half finished with the home side 0-13 to 0-11 to the good.

Owen Whitty netted the game's only goal in the 46th minute and that sent the Model County on the road to a six-point win.
