Davy Fitzgerald admits Wexford were flattered by their seven-point Walsh Cup semi-final victory over Dublin.

The 46th minute dismissal of Dublin free-taker Paul Winters on a second yellow card proved a major turning point as the Slaneysiders came from five points down to win on a 1-20 to 0-16 scoreline and set up a final meeting with Kilkenny next Sunday.

The Wexford manager told RTE: "I thought we were poor in the first half. I thought Dublin were by far the better team. You know what? They'll be a team to look out for when they get the Cuala lads back.

"They've a lot of lads to come back; we're not missing too many. Until they got the man sent off I thought we were under a bit of pressure. I don't think we deserved to win by seven points. I don't think we played well today. In Division 1A of of the league that's not going to be good enough." 

He added: "They're certainly going to be a force. I'm not looking forward to playing them (in the Leinster Championship) in May. It's going to be a tough one."
