Mayo SFC: Breaffy topple neighbours

Breaffy got their first win of the Mayo SFC campaign against neighbours Castlebar Mitchels at Pairc Josie Munnelly.

Aidan O'Shea's side, jointly managed by Peter Ford and Shane Conway, battled back from a four point deficit in the early stages to secure a hard earned 0-16 to 0-14 victory.

Simon Leonard scored a goal on the stroke of half time to pave the way for Ballina Stephenites' 1-19 to 1-9 win away to Claremorris in Group 3.

Kiltane were handed a heavy 3-18 to 0-11 defeat by visitors Knockmore in Group 3. Pearse Ruttledge, Peter Naughton and Connell Dempsey grabbed goals for the winners.

This afternoon's Group 1 clash at Belmullet finished level, with the hosts netting twice in a 2-8 to 0-14 draw with The Neale.

Yesterday saw holders Ballintubber beat Moy Davitts by 18 points, Ballaghderreen edge Garrymore, Aghamore overcome Davitts and Westport share the spoils with Charlestown.
