Magheracloone GAA are organising a 475km solo run to support little Milly Byrne.

On March 5 little 22-month-old Milly suffered heart failure. She was transferred from Drogheda Hospital to Crumlin Children’s Hospital within a matter of hours.

On St Patrick’s Day she was transferred to the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle UK, underwent further tests and was diagnosed with a condition called Dilated Cardiomyopathy. Milly is now waiting on a heart transplant and will have to stay in the UK until she gets one.

Milly and her family are ever present at Magheracloone and Monaghan games, and Magheracloone GAA club are helping to organise Milly’s Mini Marathon.

The idea is to run while soloing the ball and the target is 475km which is the distance from Magheracloone to Freeman Hospital Newcastle.
