Oughterard (Galway) 1-16

The Neale (Mayo) 0-11

Matthew Tierney scored 1-6 (0-5 from frees) as Oughterard turned on the style in the second half to see off The Neale in the Connacht club IFC final at Elvery's MacHale Park.

The sides went into the break level at 0-7 apiece, but the Galway champions took over after the restart, hitting 1-4 without reply in the third quarter to put the game beyond The Neale.

With Sean Cosgrove on song from frees, The Neale gave as good as they got in the opening half, but were left to rue missed goal chances by Simon Ryan, who rattled the crossbar, and Oisin Connolly as Ougheterard came good after the change of ends.

Tierney's well-taken goal opened the floodgates and the losers could only manage a single point between half-time and the 57th minute as Oughterard ran out comfortable winners.
