A Mayo fan had her prayers answered earlier today after bringing along a Child of Prague statue to her county’s Super 8s clash against Meath at Croke Park.
James Horan’s men finished 2-17 to 0-14 winners over the Royals off the back of late goals from Kevin McLoughlin and Cillian O’Connor to set-up a winner takes all clash with Donegal in Castlebar in two weeks’ time.
However, the Westerners didn’t have it all their own way at headquarters as the Leinster side led by 0-12 to 0-11 at the three quarters stage, only to be outscored by 1-6 to 0-2 from there to the final whistle.
Perhaps this fan might be on to something…
