Donegal boss Declan Bonner hailed his players’ character after this evening’s thrilling Super 8s draw with Kerry.
It finished 1-20 apiece at Croke Park thanks to Michael Murphy’s 76th minute free which sets up a winner takes all showdown between the Ulster champions and Mayo in a fortnight’s time.
Speaking to RTE Sport afterwards, Bonner felt that the result was a fair one between the teams.
"It was some match, no doubt about it," said the Tir Chonaill boss. "Both teams went at it, and I think, at the end of the day, a draw was probably a fair result.
"We had our chances, and so had Kerry, but a point means we still have to go to Castlebar in two weeks' time to get a result.
"For the neutrals out there, and probably for all the spectators, it was a great game of football.”
He added: "These lads are moving in the right direction, but there's a lot of work still to be done. They had to dig deep. They showed great character, but it's still only a point."
