Darragh Canavan, son of Tyrone legend Peter, has been drafted into the county’s senior panel ahead of their 2019 campaign.
According to the Ulster Herald, the Errigal Ciaran teenager was brought into Mickey Harte’s squad recently as they prepare to embark on their new season which gets underway in five days’ time against Derry.
Canavan played a focal part in the Red Hands’ All-Ireland U17 triumph last year and also helped Errigal Ciaran to an All County League title last month, having also captained the club to minor championship success earlier in the year.
Harte’s men take on the Oak Leafers at Celtic Park on Thursday night in the first round of the Dr McKenna Cup (throw-in 8pm).
