Miltown-Malbay manager Michael Neylon admits that they won’t have faced a team like Dr Crokes before as they prepare to meet in Sunday week’s Munster club SFC final.

The Clare champions have reached their first ever provincial senior decider having defeated Waterford’s The Nire in the semi-final last weekend.

However, they face a Crokes side that have looked nothing short of outstanding so far this year, brushing aside the challenge of all in Kerry before cruising through Munster.

Neylon told the Clare Champion that they have to lift their game more than ever, but even more so, they have to believe that they can win.

“I think we know that anything we have done so far this year won’t be good enough to get over the line in two weeks time,” said Neylon.

“We’re facing a juggernaut of a team that have accounted for everybody in Kerry. A lot of teams before us have tried to stop them. We’re next up and we have to really trust in the way we’ve been playing. We’ll have to execute everything 100% to be in with a shout.

“The challenge is huge and they’re an excellent side. But we have to focus on our own game and get to the starting line in a standing manner.”
