Donegal facing "acid test" - McGuinness

Jim McGuinness believes Donegal will be relishing the opportunity to take on Dublin in the first round of the Super 8s this weekend.

McGuinness remains the last man to mastermind the Dubs' downfall on the All-Ireland SFC, having steered his native county past Jim Gavin's side in the 2014 All-Ireland SFC final.

The Tir Chonaill County have been unable to conquer the capital men since and their former supremo reckons they'll be keen to crack the trend at Croke Park on Saturday night.

"It's a tough draw, but I think there's a part of me as well that thinks they are looking forward to it, that it's the acid test," McGuinness is quoted saying by the Irish Daily Star.

"They (Donegal) do have legs themselves. They have a lot of pace. They have a lot of skill going forward.

"There are a lot of people taking the pressure off Patrick (McBrearty) and Michael (Murphy). So, I think if they go out and express themselves, and if they can live with the reality of not having Patrick, I think they'll be okay."
