Dublin legend Jimmy Keaveney reckons he'll see Diarmuid Connolly lining-out for the Leinster kingpins again.

Connolly has not featured for the Dubs since coming on as a substitute against Mayo in the March league in Castlebar and has since departed to Boston for the summer.

While some feel it may be the end of the 31-year-old's inter-county career, his St Vincent's clubmate Keaveney is optimistic over a return for the five-time All-Ireland winner.

"Diarmuid is such a great advertisement for the GAA. Don't forget, he won an All-Ireland hurling colleges medal with Dublin Colleges, he's a fabulous hurler, and a fabulous footballer and when he wants a break from things he'll take the break and he'll come back again," he told the Irish Daily Star. 

"I wouldn't be worry so much about Diarmuid not at the moment.

"They're all worried, 'Ah, he'll never come back again, he'll get tied up in the rat race over there in the States'.

"But knowing Diarmuid as I do, I'm sure Diarmuid will come back and he will, please God he does, come back to the Dublin colours."
