Three days after netting a late goal in Borris-Ileigh’s All-Ireland Club SHC semi-final win over St Thomas’, JD Devaney repeated the trick for his school team today.
The talented teenager is the toast of Our Lady’s Templemore this evening after his injury-time goal gave them a 1-17 to 0-19 Harty Cup quarter-final victory over Thurles CBS at The Ragg.
Elsewhere, Diarmaid Cahill helped himself to 2-4 from play as St Flannan’s edged out St Joseph’s, Tulla by 3-17 to 0-16.
Jack McGann and Noel Cahill raised green flags in holders Midleton CBS’s 2-17 to 2-8 last eight success over De La Salle College and they will face Christian Brothers Cork – who scraped over St Colman’s Fermoy by 1-13 to 1-12 - in the last four in what will be a repeat of last year’s final.
Our Lady Templemore and St Flannan’s will also meet with a place in the final up for grabs and the semi-final games are pencilled in to be played over the weekend of January 25/26.
