Borris-Ileigh and Kiladangan will do battle for the Dan Breen Cup this year following their semi-final victories over Kilruane MacDonaghs and Nenagh Éire Óg at Semple Stadium this afternoon.

Conor Kenny scored 0-7 from play for 14-man Borris-Ileigh as they edged out Kilruane MacDonaghs by 0-16 to 0-15 to move within 60 minutes of their first county success in 33 years. Johnny's Kelly's charges played the last quarter with 14 men after defender Liam Ryan was dismissed, but they made light of their numerical disadvantage as Ryan stepped up to the plate with four points from play to nudge them into a 0-15 to 0-13 lead with a minute of normal time remaining.

Cian Darcy (Kilruane) and Brendan Maher (free) traded scores before Justin Cahill left the minimum in it as Borris-Ileigh survived seven minutes of injury-time to reach their second final in three years.

In the first semi-final, Sean Hayes scored a late fortuitous goal to give Kiladangan a 3-12 to 1-15 victory over Nenagh Éire Óg after Paul Flynn had brought them level with a quick 1-1. The victory gives Kiladangan - whose second team also qualified for the Tipperary IHC decider this weekend - an opportunity to make amends for their 2016 final loss to Thurles Sarsfields.
