Drumcliffe/Rosses Point club notes

January 20, 2020

The club expresses its thanks and gratitude to Mike Healy who has stepped down as DRP women’s intermediate team manager after five years in charge. He finished his tenure on a high by guiding the team to a Division 2 league title before Christmas. The club is grateful to Mike for his time, energy and commitment to the team over the past five years. We wish our new management team of Barry O’Sullivan, Tim O’Sullivan and Tommy Oates every success in 2020. Intermediate training for the new season begins this Saturday morning (Jan 25th) in Oxfield at 10am.

Congrats and best wishes to Jacinta Monaghan in her new role as Children’s Officer with Sligo LGFA for 2020. Carmel McDonagh is the club’s new LGFA county board delegate for the year ahead.

Hard luck to Cian Lally and the IT Sligo Sigerson Cup team who lost their quarter-final to Letterkenny last Sunday. Cian was introduced as a second-half substitute but Sligo’s opponents were deserving winners on the day.

Registration for the 2020 season is now open online on the club’s website drp.gaa.ie. You’ll find the list of membership fees on the homepage link.

Alternatively, we will be holding a registration morning in Oxfield on Saturday, Feb 1st from 10am to 12:30pm. A registration evening will also be held in Rosses Point in early Feb (date, time and venue to be confirmed).

Date for your diary: Our Saturday morning GAA nursery coaching season for girls and boys born 2010 to 2016 will begin at Rathcormac NS (outdoors) on Saturday February 29th. More details in the coming weeks.

Club meetings in 2020 will be held in Oxfield on the last Monday of each month in Oxfield at 9pm.
