Drumcliffe/Rosses Point club notes

October 14, 2019

Our women's intermediate gaelic footballers have assured themselves of a place in the Division 2 league final following an impressive two-point win against Eoghan Rua on Sunday morning. Despite having just 13 players available, DRP produced a courageous performance to claim the points and a place in the league decider.

Benbulben Gaels produced a fine performance away to Tourlestrane in their championship play-off on Sunday to win by 4-14 to 2-7. The victory sets up a championship final meeting with Western Gaels.

Big congrats to all the young athletes from Rathcormac NS who ran so well at the Connacht Primary Schools cross country finals in Moyne, County Longford at the weekend. The school's senior girls and junior boys both took home bronze medals in the team events.

The DRP boys minor gaelic footballers 'B' championship final against St Mary's will be played next Saturday. Details of the venue and time had still to be finalised at the time of writing. Best wishes to the players and management team, led by Des Henry.

Our under 13 Féile gaelic footballers play their quarter-final against Coolera/Strandhill next Sunday morning in Ransboro at 11:30am.

A reminder that there are two Saturdays remaining in our GAA nursery coaching session.
Coaching as usual next Sat the 19th in Rathcormac. Then - on Sat 26th, we will round the year off with our end-of-season party for both the players and the grown-ups. Details will be communicated to parents and guardians over the next week.
