Coolera/Strandhill manager John McPartland has hailed his players following their county SFC semi-final win over St Mary’s.

McPartland admitted to the Sligo Champion that semi-finals are there to be won, but he was delighted with his side’s performance also.

“Yeah, delighted with the win. Semi-finals are there to be won. It was tough now, Mary’s looked dangerous and could have scored two or three goals but we’re there now and that’s the main thing,” said McPartland.

“We play football to win, semi-finals are there to be won, the boys put their bodies on the line. Keelan Harte, in goals was unreal.

Coolera/Strandhill face defending champions Tourlestrane in the county final on Sunday week.
