Former ‘Footballer of the Year’ Alan Brogan has expressed his opposition to the new three hand pass rule and poked fun at his Dublin former team-mate Ciaran Kilkenny in the process.
Following the news that Central Council has approved four out of the five experimental rules, three-time All-Ireland winner Brogan made his feelings known on the subject in a series of tweets.
One included a tongue in cheek reference to Kilkenny’s style of play...

Brogan isn’t alone in his opinion on the experimental rules that are to be trialled in the pre-season competitions and Allianz football leagues...
Think these new rules are going to be a disaster. What would be wrong with leaving the game the way it is. Sort out the calendar and address the training to game ratio

It’s infuriating that the the three hand passes have got the green light for league. Games will turn more negative. It’s absolute bullshit that the entire player base was ignored. League will be horrible to watch and horrible to play. Why bother !!!

TweetApart from inside Mark rule - which at least rewards the team in possession for some attacking/kicking endeavour - surely any rule change that limits the options of the team with the ball without changing anything the defensive team can do is going to be counter productive??
