Connacht Club IFC final: An Spideal celebrate provincial glory

An Spideal were crowned Connacht Club Intermediate football champions for 2018 after coming out on top in a titanic tussle with Fuerty at Tuam Stadium today.

Finnian O Laoi’s second minute goal proved crucial as the Galway side scraped over the line on a scoreline of 1-14 to 0-16.

Donal Ó Fátharta's men led by 1-9 to 0-7 at the halfway stage and held off a strong second-half rally from their Roscommon opponents.

Both sides finished the contest with 14 men while the winners’ centre-forward Antaine Ó’Laoi, who raised four white flags, walked away with the ‘man-of-the-match’ accolade.
