Intermediate championship 

Our King & Moffat sponsored Intermediate team suffered a disappointing defeat to St Dominics on Saturday evening last in Strokestown. We have now qualified for the County quarter final where we will face Eire Og this Sunday at 2pm in Kilglass. Please come out and support the team. The club wishes Liam Caslin a speedy recovery from the injury he received on Saturday last. 

 

Underage 

On Monday evening last our FRS sponsored U-12 team had a good win over St Faithleachs in Kilmore. On Wednesday next we play St Michaels in Kilmore at 6.30pm. On this Sunday our U-12 team travel to Croke Park to take part in a blitz. Our Taylor cleaning sponsored u-14 team will play Strokestown in the semi final of the Garda cup with the date and time to be confirmed. Our Masonite sponsored minor team defeated Elphin/Ballinameen in the final game of the championship and have now qualified for the semi final where they will take on St Dominics with the date and time to be confirmed. 

 

Ladies 

Our minor girls team face St Barrys in the final at 8pm in Tarmonbarry on Friday evening. The junior ladies team play Eire Og in the quarter final on this Sunday at 11am with the venue to be confirmed. 

 

Health Challenge 

Kilmore GAA Health & Wellbeing Committee are holding a 6 week health challenge for all members of the parish. This will consist of a weekly weigh in and a talk from Gwen Fitzgibbon. A number of walks will be organised during the 6 weeks including walks on Sliabh Ban, Forest park and many more exciting venues. The 1st weigh in and talk will take place on next Tuesday the 25th of September at 7pm in the Community Centre, Dangan. The cost is €7 per weekly weigh in or just €40 for the 7 weigh ins. During the 6 weeks we will also be holding a special evening where we will have speakers in relation to numerous topics and challenges we all face in life. Spread the word and put next Tuesday evening in your diaries. 

 

Night at the races

Our annual race night will take place on Saturday night the 6th of October in Hillstreet. Horses are currently on sale priced at just €10 for the horse and €10 for the jockey. We are also looking for race sponsors. Race sponsorship costs just €50 and we would ask anyone who is interested in sponsoring a race to contact Brian Carroll 0872420896 or Carmelita caslin 0868596474. 

 

Other news

Well done to the Roscommon masters team who drew the All Ireland final at the weekend. The annual Hospice Coffee evening will take place on this Thursday evening the 20th of September between 7.30pm and 10pm in the Community Centre, Dangan.  This weeks 50/50 draw takes place this Sunday night in the Silver eel and Mervyn Foleys team are on selling duty.
