New knock-out format for 2019 FBD League

A new knock-out format for the 2019 FBD League was approved by the Connacht GAA Council at a meeting on Wednesday evening.
It means counties are guaranteed just one game and sees an end to the round-robin system that was introduced last year after the removal of colleges from the January pre-season competition.
The decision to change the format has been welcomed as mid-week games are now off the agenda and travel costs for county boards will lower.
